Removes organic pollutants, stain, and entrained toxic gases to provide a pure environment in marine and freshwater aquariums
• Contains special form macroporous organics adsorption resins • Reduces or eliminates carbon usage • Regenerable over and over again • DOES NOT REMOVE TRACE MINERALS FROM THE WATER AS COMPETING PRODUCTS AND CARBON DO! • White beads turn to a light yellow or brown, indicating exhaustion and need for regeneration • Resin life is about 2 years of service.
Regeneration:
Submerge bag of resin in plastic container filled with brine (Mix all the table salt that will dissolve in the water) • CAUTION! NEVER USE LAUNDRY BLEACH OR OTHER STRONG OXIDIZERS FOR REGENERATION – AS THEY WILL PERMANENTLY DAMAGE THE RESIN AND MAY KILL YOUR FISH! • Work beads in the brine by hand (use rubber gloves) • Rinse with fresh water • Repeat, as necessary, with fresh brine until the white beads return to a white or light cream color. Depending on organic chemicals present, white beads may never turn totally white again, but they will still work just as effectively to remove organic pollutants in the future • Rinse several times in fresh water • If for use with fresh water fish, soak in Reverse Osmosis or distilled water to make sure all of the salt is removed • Reuse as before.
Directions:
Place in a polyester bag and position for water to flow through the material • White beads turn brown or yellow indicating exhaustion • In any case, regenerate when exhausted or every 5 to 7 days until the aquarium is clear • Eight fl. oz. treats 120 gallons, but more can be added for faster removal
Considerations for use:
Expert Series Organics Absorption Resin can be used on a continual basis, since it does not remove trace minerals. Resins will last about 2 years, and then should be replaced. In freshwater systems, the Expert Series Organics Absorption Resin is sufficient for organics removal, and no carbon use is usually necessary. For marine systems, occasional use of Reef Carbon is still recommended, in addition to the Expert Series Organics Absorption Resin
